About Us

Our Mission

To provide quality tax, accounting, and other business services to our clients on a timely basis for a reasonable fee, while helping our clients succeed and improve, both personally and professionally.

Simons Accountancy Corporation was originally founded to specifically address the business issues facing private companies.

Closely held companies encounter numerous obstacles during their life cycles, including issues such as initial capitalization, development, expansion, mergers and acquisitions, reorganization and business perpetuation. We do not presume to have the answers to all questions, but we do have the expertise and knowledge to bring the right party to the table.

In 1978, Gene Durst, CPA began practicing in Anaheim Hills, California. His practice consisted mainly of bookkeeping (or write-up) services, compiling financial statements, providing tax returns and consulting. In 1993, Gene Durst incorporated the once privately independent firm and Durst Accountancy Corporation was established. As of September 2002, the name of the company was changed to Durst and Simons, Certified Public Accountants when Ed Simons was named as a partner. Gene Durst officially retired in June 2004 and the company name was changed to Simons Accountancy Corporation.

Ed Simons, CPA, MST
